All eyes in Canada are set on the grand prize that could go to a Lotto MAX player who has purchased a lottery ticket this week. Everyone interested has as many as five days to buy their potentially lucky ticket and make the first step towards bagging the jackpot that could reach CA$55 million by this Friday’s regular draw. The draw also comes with eight Maxmillions that could make players instant millionaires.
Lotto MAX is one of the hot topics at the moment since the jackpot has been growing over the past several weeks without big winners. The lucky seven numbers plus the bonus one appear to be particularly elusive and no player has been able to match them and claim the increasing jackpot. And the windfall is going to be a spectacular one for whoever is fortunate enough to bag it, as projections are that the April 5 draw would come with a CA$55-million Lotto MAX jackpot.
Lotto MAX Increases Limit to CA$70 Million
In addition to the Main Prize that could be captured by one or more tickets matching the digits drawn, there is also the Maxmillions draw that would feature as many as eight CA$1-millions prizes up for grabs. This means that the overall amount of cash coming with the next draw could surpass the CA$65-million mark.

The most recent Lotto MAX draw took place on March 29 and even though everyone was eagerly anticipating the numbers that would appear on their screens, the jackpot remained untouched.
Interest towards participation is therefore projected to increase gradually ahead of Friday, April 5. Lotto MAX came with a jackpot of CA$50 million last Friday and the lucky numbers drawn were 10-12-19-22-25-32-42 plus the bonus number 39. There was not a single ticket matching the number combination worth millions of Canadian dollars and for that, the cash prize shall survive another week.
Friday Brings CA$55-Million Jackpot
But is there a limit for the jackpot growth after weeks of it not being claimed by anyone? This May is going to bring changes to the way lottery jackpots are granted. Due to the large interest towards the game, Lotto MAX is going to bring a second weekly draw and make Tuesday a much more riveting day for lottery players. Come May 14 this is going to increase the chances of winning big twice.
In addition to this second weekly draw, the lottery game is also going to introduce a limit for its jackpot. The Lotto MAX will have the freedom to grow up to CA$70 million. With this move, the Canadian lottery game would mark a record lottery jackpot, as well as rapidly increasing cash winnings fueled on the regular.
Back in 2009, the limit was placed on CA$50 million and at that time Lotto MAX was breaking news. The most recent change took place in 2015 when the limit moved north and settled at CA$60 million. This Friday the main jackpot is going to move a step closer to said limit only weeks prior to the introduction of the new one.
